Confidence Slider in Admin Portal
The confidence slider in the Admin portal affects only alerts that are delivered either over email or through push notifications or via Webhooks.
To access the confidence slider in the admin portal, make sure the camera is assigned with an Analytics plan. It can either be a Pay as You Go+Analytics or a Fixed+Anlaytics plan.
Once in the camera setting, go to Analytics Tab, and on the General tab, enable Object Detection Analytics. Object detection Analytics is the Smart Server-Side Analytics that works when the selected event is detected by the camera. Object detection will search for the selected objects and will classify each object by type, color, size, and position. Additionally, If the camera's Motion detection module is ONVIF configurable then the server will work on the area of interest and will compare if the detected object overlaps with the areas of interest by at least 25%, if yes then the object will be logged, if not then the object is ignored.
So, the confidence slider only comes into the picture when an alert, a webhook, or push notification is associated with the camera for the selected object. This means that the user will receive an email alert or a push notification if the confidence of AI that the detected object is of the selected type is equal to or greater than the threshold confidence selected by the user.
NOTE: this confidence slider does not increase or decrease the sensitivity for detecting the objects. All objects that have confidence over 25% will always be logged in the system and if you have configured webhooks then webhooks will be delivered based on the configured Confidence value.
Confidence Slider in Video Portal
To access the Confidence Slider in the Video Portal go to the Menu Bar at the top of the screen and then select the Bell icon to open the Event Menu.
After opening the Event Menu, the User will see a filter option. The Filter Option allows the user to search for a specific object in a specific camera for a specific date in the archive.
Once the Object and/or the camera are selected, the User will see the Confidence Slider on the same Event menu. This confidence slider acts as a filter threshold and limits what events will be shown in the menu Events list. So, all the objects with lower confidence will be hidden from the Event tab.
Changing this confidence slider does not change anything in the admin portal and does not affect any of the alerts or any other users. Also, the settings of the confidence will be "forgotten" when the user logs out or closes the browser tab with the video portal, the next time the video portal is opened the confidence slider will be set to the default value (50).
